As an experienced pianist, accompanist and teacher, I love teaching people how to play piano either as an introduction to the instrument and music, or to fine tune skills and musicianship. There will be a focus on correct piano technique, music literacy, following a progression through leveled piano books. I have experience with everyone from beginners to more intermediate pianists! This is great whether you just want to experience piano for the first time, or improve your basic skills.
Recommended age: 5 to adult
Recommended length of lesson: 30 - 45 minutes, 1 x a week
Rate: $25 for half hour lesson, $37 for 45 min, $50 for an hour
Expected practice time:
-Beginner: 15 minutes, 3-4 times a week
-Advanced Beginner: 20 minutes, 4 times a week
-Intermediate: 30 minutes, 4 times a week
-Advanced Intermediate: 35 minutes, 5-6 times a week
You need to have regular access to a real piano or full-size electronic keyboard (though a real piano is preferred).
Lessons would take place at my home in the Ardmore neighborhood near Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. I have a Yamaha Studio upright piano. Students are expected to purchase materials or reimburse me for purchased materials.
